Why Hasalaka / Mahiyanganaya?
- These areas are severely affected by the Ditwah cyclone.
- Road access from Colombo is difficult due to landslides blocking main routes through Kandy.
- These are rural communities where help is not reaching easily.
- Many houses have been fully flooded for several days.
- Some people don't even have clothes to wear now.
Current Situation
- Homes have been destroyed or flooded.
- Basic needs such as food, water, clothing, and hygiene items are unavailable.
- Villagers are struggling to survive without support.
- Access is very challenging, so outside help is urgently needed.
